What's The Reason You're Failing At Item Upgrading

World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before the component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using normal methods.

A  boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of an item will be available at the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure what will be improved after an update.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a high chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails. A failed upgrade will destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in the area around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of Glyphs Glyph will boost all nodes that are connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance an Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrade the equipment they have the original item will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could be more expensive even if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can use up lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or does not swim as dolphins). The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is very useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The upgrader for items allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and armor) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Every each time you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state, which requires the player to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or speed of reload).  item upgrader  can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
