World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade option lets players increase the gear rating of an item by up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a group. In certain instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity as well as its current level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. In the case of items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can make them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.
Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their stats. In the case of a helm or chest, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will get when upgraded in addition to their relative values. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu using the circling arrows. This will reroll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference to your survival. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the greater health you will gain from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and to unlock them all, you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and have completed the corresponding fountain you'll be able to contact any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid conditions with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.
You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also gain advantages to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the participant, produce a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount of XP. This can be earned through crafting them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the upgrade price changes depending on what type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. item upgrading can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For example the splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display of the item). The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be combined in cauldrons. The same applies to using a potion in an empty cauldron. This will deplete the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
There are also simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The potion table is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets
A trinket can be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to an object or decoration that serves a purpose, but isn't particularly significant such as a thimble. In some cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. As with other upgrades to items trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their stats.
The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to purchasing a new trinket. It can be done by the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the previous trinket but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded when the old ones are no longer useful which allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an attractive alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they will not replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players should also take into account the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm, and shoulders.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they no longer have value, and the new trinket will have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still less expensive than buying the new one.
